As CEO, John Hancock Retirement, Sue has oversight over all aspects of the business, including sales, relationship management, marketing, product development, technology, and operations, and she brings more than 13 years of experience in the retirement industry globally. Most recently, Sue oversaw the retirement teams in each of Manulife’s key markets—Asia, the United States, and Canada—working with them to identify strategic opportunities to capitalize on existing expertise and emerging technology to maximize opportunities globally.
Sue is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, where she earned a B.Math., and she holds the Chartered Professional Accountant designation. In addition to being a popular speaker and panelist at industry events and forums, Sue’s been a regular contributor to trade publications.

Not what we expected—a chance to help reduce financial stress
As we start the new year, I can’t help but think that 2021 wasn’t what we expected—and I have to wonder what 2022 has in store for us. We recently took a look at stress, finances, and well-being in our eighth annual survey, and it seems that our retirement plan participants are feeling the same way: The pandemic has had a complicated effect on American workers and their finances. But one finding is loud and clear—people want help making financial decisions, and they want help from their employers, financial professionals, and their retirement plan providers.
