Viewpoints by Christina Somers, CFA, at Manulife Investment Management
Christina is responsible for the portfolio management of liability-driven investments and fixed-income index mandates. She works jointly with the team’s quantitative research and risk management professionals in the implementation of a variety of quantitative strategies. In addition, Christina is also part of the portfolio management team responsible for the development and management of a suite of active fixed income exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Christina joined the firm when Standard Life's Canadian operations were acquired by Manulife in January 2015. In 2001, she joined Standard Life as an actuarial analyst and later became part of the performance team at Standard Life Investments. In 2014, she joined the quantitative management team. Prior to joining Standard Life, she was an actuarial analyst at Morneau Sobeco. Christina holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
