Jean-François is responsible for the portfolio management of liability-driven investments (LDI)―including goals-based investment solutions―and fixed-income index mandates in Canada. He leads the investment decision-making and portfolio construction process, collaborates with financial engineering and quantitative research professionals on investment ideas and research, and works jointly with investment strategists to elaborate solutions for our clients and prospects. In addition, Jean-Francois is also part of the portfolio management team responsible for the development and management of a suite of active fixed income exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Jean-Francois joined the firm when Standard Life's Canadian operations were acquired by Manulife in January 2015. He joined the quantitative management team in 2008 as a derivatives trader, became head of trading for fixed income and derivatives in 2014, became a portfolio manager in 2015, and was then named portfolio manager, head of LDI, Canada, in 2019.
